Raipur Meat Shops Closed: A ban on the sale of meat and animal slaughter has been imposed within the Raipur Municipal Corporation area on the occasion of three religious festivals. According to the order issued by the Municipal Corporation, meat shops will remain closed on September 22 (Dol Gyaras), September 25 (Anant Chaturdashi), and September 26 (on the occasion of Samvatsari and Uttam Kshama, part of the Digambar Jain community’s Paryushan festival).
Acting on the instructions of Mayor Minal Chaubey, the municipal administration has directed all relevant shopkeepers and establishment owners in the city to comply with the order. Slaughterhouses and all meat-selling shops located within the Municipal Corporation limits will remain closed on the restricted dates.
Shops to remain closed on three dates
As per the Municipal Corporation’s order, the sale of meat is completely prohibited on September 22, 25, and 26. The operation of slaughterhouses will also be banned on these days. The municipal administration has asked the concerned business owners to keep their shops closed on the specified dates and ensure compliance with the order.
Ban on meat sales in hotels as well
This restriction is not limited to meat shops alone; action will also be taken against the sale of meat in hotels and other establishments. According to the municipal administration, if anyone is found selling meat during the restricted period, the meat stock will be immediately confiscated, and action will be taken against the concerned individual in accordance with the rules.
Instructions to officials for monitoring
To ensure compliance with the order, the Municipal Corporation has instructed all Zonal Commissioners and Health Department officials to maintain surveillance in their respective areas. Officials have been directed to inspect shops and establishments on the restricted dates and take action if any violations of the rules are found.
The Municipal Corporation has appealed to all business owners involved in the meat trade to keep their shops closed on the three specified dates and adhere to the instructions issued by the administration.
