Shubman Gill World Record: Team India won the three-match ODI series against the West Indies 2-1. Indian captain Shubman Gill was in spectacular form with the bat throughout the series. Gill scored a magnificent century in the first ODI and created history by smashing a record-breaking double century in the second match. Although he was dismissed for just one run in the third ODI, his outstanding overall performance in the series earned him a major record.
Shubman Gill has now become the highest run-scorer by a captain in a three-match ODI series. In doing so, he broke the 15-year-old record held by former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor.
Gill becomes No. 1 with 334 runs
Shubman Gill scored a total of 334 runs in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. He maintained a batting average of 167 and played two innings featuring centuries. Gill set a new record, surpassing the 310 runs scored by Brendan Taylor in 2011.
Gill has also become the second captain to score over 300 runs in a three-match ODI series; the only other name on this list is Brendan Taylor.
