Raipur: The police have announced a reward of ₹5,000 for information leading to the arrest of Shoaib Dhebar, an absconding accused in a case involving an extortion demand of ₹25 crore from Congress leader Anand Kukreja in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to an order issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone, Raipur), this cash reward will be given to anyone who facilitates the accused’s arrest or provides accurate and reliable information regarding him.
According to the police, Shoaib Dhebar has been evading arrest by constantly changing his hideouts. He shifts locations as soon as he gets wind of police operations. Police teams are monitoring his potential hideouts and conducting continuous search operations to apprehend him.
Extortion demand of ₹25 crore in Lawrence Bishnoi’s name
As per the case details, Congress leader Anand Kukreja received a call demanding ₹25 crore in extortion money in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. During the investigation into this threat and extortion case, the police uncovered Shoaib Dhebar’s involvement. Subsequently, a case was registered against him, and multi-level efforts were initiated to arrest him.
The police state that the accused used to receive prior information about the department’s activities and operations. This allowed him to evade capture and keep changing his hideouts.
Reward of ₹5,000 for the informant
Tarkeshwar Patel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone, Raipur), has announced the reward for Shoaib Dhebar under Para 80-A of the Police Regulations. According to the order, a cash reward of ₹5,000 will be awarded to any individual who reveals the accused’s whereabouts, facilitates his arrest, or provides concrete and reliable information concerning him.
The final decision regarding the awarding of the reward will rest with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone, Raipur). Two constables reassigned to police lines over allegations of leaking confidential information
The police have also initiated departmental action in this matter. Two police personnel posted with the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit—Shivam Dwivedi and Rahul Singh Gautam—have been reassigned to the police lines. Both face allegations of leaking confidential and departmental information related to the case to the accused.
However, there has been no official confirmation of these allegations from senior police officials so far. The matter is currently under departmental investigation.
