Bilaspur: There is welcome news for students and parents in Chhattisgarh. They will no longer need to make repeated trips to government offices for essential tasks related to academic documents. Following the initiative and directives of School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, several key services provided by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education have been brought under the ambit of the Public Service Guarantee Act, with fixed timeframes for completion.
Under this new system, services such as the issuance of duplicate migration certificates and mark sheets, the recounting of marks, re-evaluation, and the provision of photocopies of answer sheets will be made available through a prescribed procedure. A 60-day deadline has been set for the delivery of all these services.
The objective of this system is to ensure the timely provision of essential academic documents to students and to establish accountability within the process. It will particularly benefit students who require documents urgently for higher education admissions, scholarships, competitive examinations, or other academic pursuits.
Why is this system important for students?
Every day counts for students after the declaration of exam results. Documents such as mark sheets, migration certificates, or answer sheets are often required for further studies and admission processes. Delays in obtaining these documents can cause significant inconvenience to students.
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav stated that it is unacceptable for students to face hardship just to obtain their own documents. The government aims to enable students to focus their time and energy on their studies and future, rather than on making rounds of government offices.
The Minister has instructed officials to handle student-related matters with sensitivity and to ensure strict adherence to the prescribed timeframes. Bringing these services under the Public Service Guarantee Act will enhance transparency and accountability in the process.
Minister Gajendra Yadav added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is working towards making the education system student-centric. The School Education Department aims to provide students with a convenient and transparent system covering everything from schooling and examinations to higher education.
The implementation of this new system will bring relief to students and parents regarding tasks related to academic documents and will also ensure accountability in cases of unnecessary delays.
