Raipur: Chhattisgarh will showcase its cultural heritage, traditional products, and developmental achievements at the 45th India International Trade Fair (IITF), to be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from November 14 to 27, 2026. The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Development and Heritage’. In line with this, the Chhattisgarh pavilion will feature the state’s art, culture, industry, tourism, handicrafts, and local products. Various state government departments have intensified preparations to ensure the success of the event.
Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations
A high-level review meeting regarding Chhattisgarh’s participation in the trade fair was held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, chaired by Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel. The meeting covered aspects such as pavilion construction, attractive decor, branding, security, and other essential arrangements.
The Chief Secretary instructed the concerned departments to complete all preparations within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring high quality. He emphasized that Chhattisgarh’s unique identity must be effectively showcased at the fair.
Pavilion to be Designed Around the ‘Development and Heritage’ Theme
This year’s trade fair will highlight the synergy between modern development and a rich cultural heritage. The Chhattisgarh pavilion will present the state’s folk art, traditions, and historical identity, alongside its industrial growth and investment potential.
The initiative aims to introduce visitors—both from within the country and abroad—to Chhattisgarh’s cultural diversity, economic activities, and development prospects.
A Platform for Handicrafts and Handloom Products
The fair will feature products from Chhattisgarh’s traditional artisans, handloom weavers, local entrepreneurs, and self-help groups. Under the Department of Village Industries, the Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Federation and the ‘Shabri’ brand will facilitate the exhibition and sale of these handicraft products.
This will provide local artisans and small-scale entrepreneurs with an opportunity to enhance the visibility of their products, reach new customers, and connect with potential buyers. Millets and Herbal Products to be Key Attractions
Traditional agricultural products from Chhattisgarh will be prominently featured in the pavilion. The Departments of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, as well as Horticulture, have been instructed to curate an engaging exhibition showcasing various millets—such as Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi—alongside other specialized agricultural produce.
Additionally, the Department of Forest and Climate Change, in collaboration with the Minor Forest Produce Federation, will organize an exhibition and sale of ‘Chhattisgarh Herbal’ products. This initiative is expected to help connect local and forest-based products with a broader market.
Promotion of Industrial Policy and Tourism
The Chhattisgarh pavilion will also provide information regarding the state’s Industrial Development Policy (2024–2030) and investment opportunities. The Department of Commerce and Industries will introduce potential investors and business representatives to the industrial prospects available within the state.
Furthermore, the Tourism Department will showcase Chhattisgarh’s major tourist destinations and its tourism potential. This effort aims to promote the state’s industrial capabilities and its identity as a tourism destination on both national and international stages.
Chhattisgarh’s Folk Culture to be Displayed on ‘State Day’
A ‘State Day’ will be celebrated at the Chhattisgarh pavilion during the trade fair. On this occasion, folk artists from the state will perform traditional dances, music, and other cultural acts.
The Department of Culture has been tasked with outlining these programs. Through these performances, visitors will have the opportunity to gain a closer look at Chhattisgarh’s folk traditions and cultural diversity.
