Raipur: There is important news for young people in Chhattisgarh preparing to become government teachers. Revised dates have been announced for the teacher recruitment examinations, which will fill 5,000 regular posts in the state. According to the new schedule, the recruitment examinations for Assistant Teachers and Teachers will now be held in December. Meanwhile, the recruitment examination for Lecturers will take place as originally scheduled on November 29, 2026.
Why were the examination dates changed?
The examination schedule was revised to provide candidates with disabilities another opportunity to apply. Candidates belonging to various categories—including the visually impaired, the hearing and speech impaired, individuals with cerebral palsy, those cured of leprosy, and individuals with mild ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)—had filed a petition regarding this in the Bilaspur High Court.
In this matter, the High Court issued directives on October 9, 2026. In compliance with these, the selection board granted the concerned candidates another opportunity to submit online applications. The application process for this was conducted from October 15 to October 30. Consequently, the dates for the recruitment examinations had to be revised.
Recruitment for 5,000 posts
According to the Directorate of Public Instruction, a total of 5,000 regular posts will be filled through this recruitment process. This includes 854 posts for Lecturers, 1,654 for Teachers, 2,292 for Assistant Teachers, and 200 for Assistant Teachers (Science/Laboratory).
Initially, the recruitment examination for Assistant Teachers was scheduled for October 11, and the examination for Teachers for October 25. However, under the revised schedule, both examinations will now be held in December. This change in dates has also provided candidates with additional time to prepare for the examinations.
New Schedule for CG Teacher Recruitment Examinations
According to the revised schedule released by the selection board, the examinations will be conducted as follows:
Lecturer Recruitment Examination: November 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM. The examination will be held at five divisional headquarters.
Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination: This will be conducted on December 6, 2026, at 16 district headquarters across the state.
Teacher Recruitment Examination: This will be held on December 20, 2026, at 16 district headquarters across the state.
Candidates are advised to keep track of the official examination schedule and the guidelines issued by the selection board, in addition to their exam preparations.
