Raipur: Preparations for the procurement of paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27 have intensified in Chhattisgarh. Paddy procurement in the state will commence on November 15. Prior to this, the issuance of tokens to farmers will begin on November 10. To ensure convenience, priority has been given to an online token system; farmers will be able to obtain tokens for selling their paddy from the comfort of their homes using the ‘Tuhar Token’ mobile app.
The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection has established new guidelines to make the token system transparent and organized. Under these rules, the maximum number of tokens a farmer can receive is determined based on their registered agricultural land area. Small and marginal farmers will be given special priority within this online system. Furthermore, tokens will be issued to each farmer strictly according to the prescribed limits.
Token issuance process begins on November 10
While paddy procurement in the state is set to begin on November 15, the issuance of tokens to farmers will start on November 10. Farmers can apply from home using the ‘Tuhar Token’ mobile app, which includes an OTP-based registration feature.
The objective of this system is to spare farmers from having to wait in long queues at cooperative societies or procurement centers to obtain tokens. Farmers can apply for tokens via their mobile phones at their own convenience.
How many tokens will be issued based on land area?
The Food Department has determined the maximum number of tokens based on the farmer’s registered agricultural land area. The rules are as follows:
Registered Agricultural Land Area | Maximum Tokens
Up to 2 acres | 1 token
More than 2 acres up to 10 acres | 2 tokens
More than 10 acres | 3 tokens
Under this system, farmers will be able to obtain tokens based on their registered land area and the prescribed paddy procurement limits. How to Obtain a Paddy Procurement Token via Mobile from Home
To obtain a token online, farmers must first download the ‘Token Tuhar’ mobile app from the Google Play Store. Following this, they need to enter the required information into the app and complete the registration process using an OTP (One-Time Password).
Once registered, farmers can apply for a token to sell their paddy through the available system. The app also allows farmers to view details regarding their registration, land area (acreage), and paddy sales. Farmers are advised to ensure that their mobile number and identification details are entered accurately during the application process.
70% of Tokens Available Online; 30% Issued via Cooperative Societies
This season, tokens will be issued based on the daily procurement capacity of each paddy purchase center. Of this total capacity, 70% is allocated for online tokens, while the remaining 30% is reserved for tokens issued through cooperative societies.
Within the online token system, specific provisions have been made for small and large farmers. Of the 70% capacity allocated for online tokens, 80% is reserved for small and marginal farmers, while 20% is reserved for large farmers.
For example: If a paddy procurement center has a daily procurement capacity of 1,000 quintals, then:
Online tokens will be issued for 700 quintals.
Tokens for 300 quintals will be available through the cooperative society.
Of the 700 quintals allocated for online tokens, 560 quintals will be for small and marginal farmers.
The remaining 140 quintals will be reserved for large farmers.
Maximum Procurement of 21 Quintals of Paddy per Acre
For the Kharif marketing year 2026-27, paddy will be procured from farmers at a maximum rate of 21 quintals per acre. When applying for a token, farmers must accurately enter the quantity of paddy they intend to sell.
The paddy procurement process will be carried out based on the registered land area and the established procurement limits. Therefore, farmers are advised to exercise caution when entering information regarding their land and the quantity of paddy during the application process.
Registration via Aadhaar OTP: A Measure to Prevent Irregularities
To ensure the accurate identification of farmers within the online token system, an Aadhaar-based OTP verification process has been implemented. This measure is intended to prevent potential irregularities—such as fraudulent registrations or misuse of the token system—that could arise from the submission of incorrect information.
Farmers are advised to verify the details linked to their Aadhaar card and mobile number before submitting their applications. Should any difficulties arise in receiving the OTP, farmers may contact their respective cooperative society or a departmental help center.
Facing Issues with Tokens? Reach Out to the Helpline
For any problems, complaints, or suggestions related to paddy procurement or the token system, farmers may contact the Food Department’s toll-free helpline at 1800-233-3663.
The government anticipates that the online token system will save time for farmers and reduce unnecessary crowding at procurement centers. It is, therefore, essential for farmers to familiarize themselves with the token process—which begins on November 10—well in advance, so that they are prepared for the paddy procurement phase starting on November 15.
