Himachal Politics: The crisis is not over yet for the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of Congress in Himachal Pradesh. According to sources, the Congress government is still in danger. Many Congress MLAs are in contact with the rebels. Talks with observers on Thursday (February 29) failed. Vikramaditya Singh’s camp and the rebel camp are adamant on changing the Chief Minister.
Minister Vikramaditya Singh reached Panchkula at 12 midnight on Thursday. Here Vikramaditya Singh met the rebel MLAs. Whereas state Congress chief Pratibha Singh said that it would be too early to consider the crisis over.
Actually, political turmoil is going on in Congress in Himachal for some days. Here minister Vikramaditya Singh had resigned on February 28 and alleged that there was a lack of coordination among the cabinet ministers and he had to be humiliated despite being a minister.
The party claimed that the government would run for five years
The party claimed that the government would run for five years however, Vikramaditya’s resignation was not accepted. After this, CM Sukhu called Vikramaditya Singh his younger brother.
Taking aim at BJP, he said that it should not steal our mandate and let us do our work. Amidst the political crisis, the Congress leadership had sent DK Shivkumar and Bhupendra Singh Hooda to Shimla as observers, who met all the MLAs and the CM. After this meeting, a press conference was held, in which it was claimed that the government will run for five years and everything is fine.
Political turmoil started due to cross voting
Let us tell you that this crisis of Himachal Pradesh government started when Congress had to face a crushing defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections on a seat in Himachal.
There was a big discussion about this defeat because Congress is in majority here, whereas BJP had only 25 MLAs. Six Congress MLAs rebelled. In this way, six Congress and three independent MLAs changed camps just before the elections and cross-voted for BJP.
Due to this, BJP candidates won. Since then, Congress’ Sukhu government is under threat.
