Bollywood actor Govinda is once again in the spotlight due to his personal life. In a recent interview, he shared an anecdote from his married life with his wife, Sunita Ahuja. Govinda revealed that following the passing of his mother, Sunita asked for the freedom to live her life on her own terms. According to Govinda, Sunita asked for this freedom and subsequently began going out as she pleased. In light of this, the actor told her, “When you return home, you won’t find me the way I am now. That’s alright, isn’t it?” Govinda shared that Sunita replied by saying she had no issue with that.

When asked during the interview whether Sunita had “gone astray” while exercising this freedom, the actor dismissed the notion. He clarified that Sunita simply wanted to live her life in her own way—a choice to which she was fully entitled.
Govinda noted that Sunita had come into his life at a very young age and had spent a long time living according to his preferences. The actor emphasized that every individual has a life of their own, and one only has the right to know about another person’s personal choices if that individual chooses to share them. Govinda revealed that after his mother’s passing, Sunita expressed a desire for greater freedom. In the actor’s words, Sunita didn’t just want freedom; she wanted ‘freedom to the next level.’ In response, he told her that she was free to live her life exactly as she wished, and that he had no issues with that.
The actor added that since Sunita had asked for this freedom, he chose to respect her wishes. He acknowledged that after years of shouldering family and household responsibilities, Sunita likely desired a change in her life.
Mention of a Fondness for Food and Dining
During the conversation, Govinda touched upon Sunita’s personal preferences and lifestyle, noting that she has a keen interest in food and dining. According to the actor, the lifestyle maintained at home did not always allow Sunita to live exactly as she preferred. Consequently, she wished to spend time outside and live life on her own terms.
