4 injured in LPG cylinder blast at food stall in Delhi

4 people sustained burn injuries after an LPG cylinder allegedly burst at a small food stall operating from a house in central Delhi’s Nabi Karim area on Thursday morning, police and fire officials said. The incident was reported at around 9.29 am from a house in Amarpuri, after which teams from the Delhi Police and the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) rushed to the spot.

According to preliminary investigations, the blast occurred in a small room on the ground floor of the house that Sarita (35) was using to prepare and sell tea and simple meals, including dal-rice. Police said Sarita had asked Krishan (37) to replace an LPG cylinder. A fire reportedly broke out while the regulator was being opened. Fire officials, however, said the incident involved an LPG cylinder burst inside the food stall, resulting in burn injuries to four people. All the injured were shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital by PCR and CATS ambulances before fire tenders reached the spot.

The injured were identified as Sarita, Ajay (19), Zakir (35), and Krishan.
