CBSE re-evaluation portal faces massive cyberattack during result window

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reported a massive cyberattack on its re-evaluation portal during the ongoing application process for Class 10 and Class 12 board exam results. According to CBSE, the portal received nearly 1.5 million hits within just two minutes, creating an unusually high volume of traffic that affected the system’s performance.

Officials stated that the portal was targeted by coordinated cyberattacks, causing temporary disruptions for students trying to apply for re-evaluation, verification of marks, and obtaining photocopies of answer sheets.

The board assured students and parents that technical teams were actively monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to protect the system and restore normal services. CBSE clarified that student data remains secure and there is no indication of any data breach. The board has also strengthened cybersecurity measures to handle the increased traffic and prevent further disruptions.

The incident highlights the growing challenges educational institutions face in managing large-scale digital services during peak periods.

CBSE has advised students to remain patient and continue checking official updates regarding the re-evaluation process and application deadlines.
