Naxalite IED Blast Rocks Chhattisgarh: 2 Jawans Martyred in Deadly Attack on Bijapur-Sukma Border| 7 martyred in 6 months

Chhattisgarh News: Naxalites carried out a major incident on Sunday on the Sukma and Bijapur border of Chhattisgarh. Naxalites blew up a police force truck with an IED blast between Silger and Tekalgudem. According to preliminary information, two soldiers were martyred in this blast.

According to the information, the movement of the soldiers of 201 Cobra Corps from Silger Camp located in Jagargunda area was towards Tekalgudem by truck and bike during ROP (Road Opening Duty). The Naxalites had planted an IED on the way there. It is being told that as soon as the truck full of soldiers left from there at around 3 pm, it came under the impact of IED.

Due to the blast, the truck driver soldier Vishnu R and co-driver soldier Shailendra were martyred. The rest of the soldiers are said to be safe. It is being told that these soldiers were going to the camp with ration. Tekalgudam and the eastern area beyond it is the stronghold of Naxalite commanders Hidma and Deva. A camp of security forces has been set up here only a few months ago.

A month ago, the police officer’s car was hit by an IED blast

About a month ago, the vehicle of the police station in-charge in Bijapur district came under the impact of an IED planted by the Naxalites. Farsegarh police station in-charge Akash Masih was coming to Bijapur with one of his soldiers on some official work. During this time, the Naxalites carried out a command IED blast between Farsegarh and Ranibodli villages. However, both the police station in-charge Akash Masih and the soldier are safe in this incident. The front part of the vehicle was damaged. 

141 Naxalites were killed in six months, 7 soldiers were martyred

From January to 23 June this year, soldiers have killed 141 Naxalites in Bastar division. While many Naxalites have been injured. During this period, 7 soldiers have also been martyred. Apart from this, Naxalites have also tried to target soldiers and their camps many times.

During this period, there were 3 major encounters and 3 major attacks

  • June 15: In an encounter in Abujhmad, one soldier Nitesh Ekka was martyred, while two soldiers were injured.
  • Naxalites attacked the security forces camp in Narayanpur on June 5

Naxalites have attacked Irkbhatti camp in Narayanpur district. It is being told that Naxalites have fired a total of 4 BGLs on the camp from the forest side, in which one BGL exploded on the spot. The soldiers of the camp are safe. In retaliation, the Naxalites fled from the spot. Search operation is being conducted in the area. 

  • On April 29, 10 Naxalites were killed in Narayanpur

In an encounter with DRG and STF soldiers in Abujhmad area of ​​Narayanpur on Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border on the morning of 29 April, 10 Naxalites worth 63 lakhs were killed. These included 3 female Maoists. Later all the bodies were also identified. A large quantity of weapons and explosives including an AK-47 were recovered from the spot. 

  • 29 Naxalites were killed in the Kanker encounter

On April 16, in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, there was an encounter between the police and the Naxalites for about 5 and a half hours. DRG and BSF soldiers entered the Maoist hideout and killed 29 of their Naxalites. At the time of the encounter, the Naxalites were sitting carefree after having their lunch.

Their commander Shankar Rao was preparing to hold a meeting. The soldiers had reached close to him by about 250 to 300 meters. After this, they attacked as soon as they got the opportunity.

A video of this encounter has also surfaced, in which some soldiers are seen taking position. They are moving forward while firing. The soldier who made the video is saying, ‘Don’t go straight ahead…take cover… don’t fire from behind. Don’t go too close.’

  • 25 February: CAF jawan Ram Ashish Yadav was martyred after being hit by an IED in the Bechapal area of ​​Bijapur district.
  • February: Police had set up camp in Tekalgudam. Here the Naxalites attacked the soldiers in which 3 soldiers were martyred. 2 Naxalites were also killed.
