CG Census Update: A special census-related survey will be conducted in Raipur district from August 1 to August 31. During this period, data across nine sectors—including education, healthcare, water, electricity, and roads—will be collected. The target is to complete this survey within one month. The district administration has assembled a team of 400 personnel for this task. In this phase, surveyors will visit hospitals and institutions to gather information. Responsibilities have been assigned to officials ranging from Gram Panchayat secretaries and Patwaris to Chief Municipal Officers (CMOs). An individual has been appointed for every village and urban area.
The 9 sectors to be surveyed:
Educational institutions (from primary to higher education).
Health facilities (hospitals, PHCs, sub-health centers, dispensaries).
Drinking water and irrigation systems.
Electricity availability.
Road, transport, and communication facilities.
Post offices, banks, ATMs, and other financial services.
Panchayats, Anganwadis, and other government institutions.
Markets, mandis (wholesale markets), and the Public Distribution System (ration shops).
Internet and mobile connectivity.
Strategy to be formulated based on these facilities
Data regarding all nine sectors will be collected. This will help in planning by revealing population distribution across urban and rural areas, the employment situation, and specific local needs—such as the absence of hospitals, schools, roads, water, or internet services. It will also assess the condition of existing institutions and identify potential improvements. Officials responsible for specific villages and urban areas will collect this data while considering these factors.

According to departmental information, a team of approximately 400 people has been formed, with specific officials assigned to each city and village. In rural areas, the task of data collection has been entrusted to officials such as Panchayat secretaries and Patwaris. Training for all officials and staff has been completed prior to the commencement of the survey. A training session was recently held at the Collectorate, covering aspects such as the preparation of handbooks, data compilation, and verification. Participants were instructed on form filling, data entry, and the precautions to be observed in the field. The district administration has clarified that action will be taken against employees who provide incorrect or incomplete information.
