CG Pension Cases: Chhattisgarh’s School Education Department has issued directives to all District Education Officers (DEOs) regarding the speedy resolution of pending pension cases in the state. The department has instructed officials to personally review pending cases and ensure the resolution of all such matters by September 30, 2026. The department had been receiving complaints about pension cases remaining unresolved for long periods at various levels.
Service Books of Retiring Employees to be Completed in Advance
According to the department’s directives, the service books and passbooks of teachers and employees retiring by March 2027 must be completed ahead of schedule. It has been made mandatory to verify the service books—specifically the pay fixation details—through the Treasury and Accounts Department. The objective is to prevent any difficulties regarding the payment of pensions and other dues at the time of retirement.
Special Camps to be Held at the Block Level
To ensure the timely completion of retirement-related procedures, special camps will be organized at the block level from April 1 to April 30 during every academic session. In these camps, updating the service books and passbooks of teachers and employees, along with completing necessary formalities, will be prioritized.
Assistance from Court Cell for Legal Cases
Instructions have also been issued to seek assistance from the Bilaspur-based Court Cell to resolve pension cases that have been pending for a long time due to legal issues. The department aims to expedite the processing of cases stalled by legal hurdles so that eligible employees can receive their pension-related benefits on time.
PPO to be Issued in the Month of Retirement
The School Education Department has further directed that the Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) for teachers and employees retiring from October 2026 onwards be issued during the very month of their retirement. Additionally, instructions have been given to ensure the payment of all other retirement-related dues within that same month.
The department has asked District Education Officers to adhere to these directives, regularly review pending cases, and ensure their resolution within the stipulated timeframe.
