Bilaspur: A farewell ceremony was organized at the High Court to mark the retirement of Justice Rajani Dubey. The event took place in the courtroom of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha. During her tenure, she successfully disposed of over 18,775 cases, including 537 judgments delivered in the Single Bench and 151 in the Division Bench.
In his address, Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha remarked that Justice Rajani Dubey heard every case with immense patience and impartiality throughout her tenure. She also maintained cordial and respectful relations with both the Bar and the Bench. Her calm demeanor, conduct, and balanced approach to adjudication endeared her to everyone. Her humility and grace consistently upheld the dignity of the judiciary. She was known for her clarity, balanced perspective, and respect for the rule of law.
Throughout her judicial career, Justice Rajani Dubey discharged her responsibilities with wisdom, impartiality, and sensitivity. Her approach reflected not only a deep understanding of the law but also a keen awareness of the human aspects of justice. Her conduct serves as an inspiration for young judicial officers. Referring to the volume of cases she handled, the Chief Justice noted that these figures clearly demonstrate her immense contribution.
Served in various courts across MP and Chhattisgarh
In her address, Justice Rajani Dubey shared experiences from her tenure and expressed her gratitude to the Almighty, the Chief Justice, fellow High Court judges, her family, judicial officers, colleagues, advocates, and the entire court staff.
Notably, Justice Rajani Dubey was born on June 30, 1964, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. She completed her graduation in Mandla and obtained her LL.B. degree from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur. She enrolled as an advocate with the Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council in 1987 and practiced law in the District Court and the Madhya Pradesh High Court until May 1990. After being selected as a Civil Judge in 1990, she served in various capacities within the subordinate courts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. She held positions such as Judicial Magistrate First Class, Principal Magistrate of the Juvenile Justice Board, and Additional District and Sessions Judge in Sagar, Jabalpur, and Bilaspur. She also served as Special Judge (CBI) in Raipur, Judge of the Family Court in Rajnandgaon, District and Sessions Judge in Baloda Bazar, and Registrar (Vigilance) at the Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur. She was elevated as a Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on June 18, 2018, and took the oath as a permanent Judge on May 11, 2020.
