IAS Jayshree Jain, Collector of Sakti: Jayshree Jain became an IAS officer after studying in a government school; as Collector, she has brought pride to both Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

IAS Jayshree Jain, Collector of Sakti: IAS officer Jayshree Jain has now become the new Collector of Sakti district in Chhattisgarh. Her appointment as Collector is a source of immense pride not only for the people of Vishrampur in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district but also for the residents of Gangashahar in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. On August 18, 2026, the Vishnu Deo Sai government of Chhattisgarh transferred 22 IAS officers, entrusting the responsibility of Sakti District Collector to Jayshree Jain, who was previously posted as Joint Secretary (Forest and Climate Change Department). The success story of Sakti District Collector Jayshree Jain serves as an inspiration for young people who believe that one cannot become a District Collector after studying in government schools. Jayshree Jain achieved this position through her hard work and an education rooted in government schools. She also performed exceptionally well as the Additional Collector of Bilaspur in 2021 and as the Managing Director of the State Rural Livelihood Mission in 2025.

Jayshree Jain: A Daughter of Gangashahar

Born on February 21, 1979, IAS Jayshree Jain hails from Gangashahar in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. She is the daughter of Tolaram Malu and the daughter-in-law of Malchand, both residents of Gangashahar. Tolaram Malu’s family had settled in Vishrampur, Surajpur district (Chhattisgarh), several decades ago. Currently, Jayshree resides in Raipur with her husband, Jayant, who is a Chartered Accountant (CA).

Jayshree received her early education at a government school in Vishrampur. She subsequently pursued higher education at Holy Cross College, where she secured the first position in the entire university. After completing her college education, she joined the State Administrative Service in 2005. She was later promoted to the IAS cadre (2016 batch). She also holds the distinction of being the first woman from Surajpur to become an IAS officer.
