Raisina Dialogue 2025: The prestigious Raisina Dialogue, organized by the Government of India since 2016, is set to host its 10th edition in New Delhi from March 17 to 19, 2025. Named after Raisina Hills, the location of India’s most important government buildings, the conference is modeled after major international forums like Europe’s Munich Security Conference and Asia’s Shangri-La Dialogue.

The 10th anniversary of the Raisina Dialogue will be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon will serve as the chief guest, delivering the inaugural address with a focus on global security and political stability. The central theme of this year’s dialogue is “Kaalchakra – People, Peace and Planet,” representing the changing global perspectives and the dynamic shifts in international relations.

The conference will host over 3500 participants from around 125 countries, including ministers, former heads of state, military commanders, technology leaders, academics, journalists, and youth. Six thematic pillars will guide the conversations:

  2. Resolving the Green Trilemma: Who, Where, & How.
  3. Digital Planet: Agents, Agencies and Absences.
  4. Militant Mercantilism: Trade, Supply Chains & the Exchange Rate Addiction.
  5. The Tiger’s Tale: Rewriting Development with a New Plan.
  6. Investing in Peace: Drivers, Institutions, & Leadership.

Raisina Dialogue 2025: Key Topics of Discussion

  1. US Foreign Policy: The United States will be a focal point in this year’s Raisina Dialogue. With major changes in global policies under former President Donald Trump and the ongoing impact of his administration’s decisions, several top American officials will participate. Notable names include US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard and Project 2025 architect James Carafano. Discussions will likely cover America’s approach to Russia, competition with China, and the delicate issue of Taiwan.
  2. Russia-Ukraine War: The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict will be a central topic of discussion. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha is expected to participate and appeal for global support for Ukraine. European leaders will likely press India to reconsider its position on the conflict, while also debating the broader geopolitical consequences of the war.
  3. China-Taiwan Relations: With tensions escalating between China and Taiwan, experts will analyze India’s role and its response to the global power struggle between the United States and China. A representative from China’s Fudan University is also expected to attend, suggesting potential discussions on improving India-China relations.
  4. Global South & Developing Countries: Developing nations will have a strong voice at the dialogue. Foreign ministers from countries like Ghana, Cuba, Peru, and Antigua and Barbuda are expected to discuss how India can help bring attention to their issues on international platforms.
  5. Nuclear Security & Iran: Rafael Grossi, chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will discuss nuclear arms control and the ongoing negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

India’s Diplomatic Push

Raisina Dialogue 2025 is not just a global conversation but also an opportunity for India to assert its position as a key player on the world stage. With participants from countries like Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Mauritius, India aims to strengthen its bilateral ties and enhance its diplomatic clout.

Raisina Dialogue 2025: Pakistan & Bangladesh Excluded

Interestingly, representatives from Pakistan and Bangladesh have not been invited to this year’s dialogue, reflecting the tense diplomatic relations between India and these neighboring countries.

The Role of India in Global Politics

India’s position as a rising global power will be discussed extensively.
