Maharashtra-Jharkhand Election Results 2024: The results of the assembly elections held in Maharashtra and Jharkhand will come on Saturday (November 23, 2024). Elections were held in one phase in Maharashtra and two phases in Jharkhand. There is a tough competition between Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra. At the same time, in Jharkhand there is a direct contest between the INDIA alliance led by Hemant Soren and the BJP-led NDA.

Talking about Maharashtra, according to the exit polls and satta bazaar data, Mahayuti (BJP-led alliance) can return to power once again. Devendra Fadnavis is leading in the race to become the Chief Minister. On the other hand, according to the exit poll of MATRIZE in Jharkhand, the BJP-led NDA government can be formed. NDA can get 42 to 47 seats and INDIA alliance can get 25 to 30 seats. Former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das is currently leading in the race to become the Chief Minister.
How many seats are there in Maharashtra?
There are a total of 288 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. A majority of 144 seats is required to form the government. There are two major alliances (1) Mahayuti (BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP faction) which includes Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction. The second major alliance is Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). In which Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction), Congress, Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction are contesting the elections together.

The second is Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena-Shinde faction), who is the current Chief Minister. At the same time, Ajit Pawar (NCP faction) is also a possible option. Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena Uddhav faction) is the main face from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. NCP’s senior leader Sharad Pawar is also there. However, no face has been claimed for the post of Chief Minister from the Congress yet.
Who is contesting on how many seats?
Out of the total 288 seats of Maharashtra Assembly, BJP is contesting on 148 seats, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) on 80 seats, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) on 65 seats. Congress on 125 seats, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) on 90 seats. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) is contesting on 75 seats.

Results of the last election in Maharashtra (2019)
In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections , BJP contested on 105 seats. Shiv Sena contested on 56 seats, NCP on 54 seats, Congress on 44 seats. BJP and Shiv Sena together secured a majority (161 seats), but due to a dispute over the post of Chief Minister, Shiv Sena broke ties with BJP. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), NCP, and Congress together formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister. Later, Eknath Shinde rebelled in Shiv Sena and formed an alliance with BJP to form the Mahayuti government. In which Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis became the Deputy Chief Minister.
In the second and final phase of elections for Jharkhand assembly elections, about 68 percent of the voters exercised their franchise in 38 constituencies till 5 pm on Wednesday. The results of the election of the 81-member assembly are to be declared on November 23, but before that the exit poll data has come out.

The fate of 1211 candidates is at stake in Jharkhand
Jharkhand NDA alliance includes BJP, JDU, AJSU Party and Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas. India alliance includes political parties like JMM, Congress, RJD and CPI-ML. A total of 1211 candidates are in the fray for all 81 assembly seats in the state.
There are a total of 81 seats in Jharkhand assembly. 41 seats are required for an absolute majority. Here the fate of two major alliances and their parties is at stake. NDA alliance includes Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU). On the other hand, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are part of INDIA alliance.

Results of the last election in Jharkhand (2019)
Talking about Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had won 30 seats. Apart from this, BJP 25, Congress 16, RJD 1, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Democratic 3, All Jharkhand Students Union 2, CPI Leninist 1, NCP 1 and 2 seats went to the account of independents. The alliance of JMM (JMM), Congress and RJD had won 47 seats. Hemant Soren became the Chief Minister. At the same time, BJP did not get the majority despite being the largest party, and it remained in the opposition.
Former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das is being considered as the potential face from NDA. AJSU has not claimed the post of Chief Minister. Under the INDIA alliance, Hemant Soren (JMM) is the current Chief Minister and the main face of the alliance. Congress and RJD have supported Hemant Soren’s claim for the post of Chief Minister.
