TMC Candidates List 10 Points : West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress has announced the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced this at the Jan Garjana rally on Sunday (March 10) at Kolkata’s largest Brigade Parade ground. We tell you in 10 points the main points about giving tickets to Trinamool Congress candidates.
Highlights of TMC’s candidate list
1. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced candidates for 42 seats in the state, out of which tickets have been given to women on 12 seats.
2. Muslim candidates have been fielded on six out of 42 seats.
3. Two BJP MLAs Krishna Kalyani and Vishwajit Das have been given tickets. Both of them have taken membership of Trinamool Congress only a few months ago.
4. Two ministers have also been given tickets. Ministers Partha Bhowmik and Biplab Mitra will contest the Lok Sabha elections.
5. Three candidates from outside Bengal have got tickets. Kirti Azad, Shatrughan Sinha and Yusuf Pathan have been made candidates.
6. Out of 42 candidates, 16 sitting MPs have got tickets. Whereas tickets of 7 MPs have been canceled.
7. The MPs whose tickets have been canceled include Aparupa Poddar, Mohan Jatua, Sunil Kumar Mandal, Shishir Adhikari, Divyendu Adhikari and Nusrat Jahan.
8. Due to Shubhendu Adhikari joining BJP, the tickets of brother Divyendu Adhikari and father Shishir Adhikari have been cut. Mimi Chakraborty had refused to contest the elections while Arjun Singh, who came to TMC from BJP, did not get the ticket.
9. 11 MLAs including 2 ministers have got tickets. Actresses Sayoni Ghosh, Rachna Banerjee, June Malia and Shatabdi Roy have got tickets.
10. Actors Deepak Adhikari and Shatrughan Sinha have got tickets. Singer Debanshu Bhattacharya, who became famous with Khela Hobe, has got the ticket. Sujata Mandal, wife of BJP MP Soumitra Khan, has got the ticket. Former footballer Prasun Banerjee has got the ticket. Former IPS Prasun Banerjee has also been given the ticket.
