The First and Longest Solar Eclipse of the Year Today: Darkness on Earth for Some Time, Know Food and Drink Precautions During the Eclipse

This will be the first solar eclipse of the year (Solar eclipse 2024) which is going to last for a very long time. This solar eclipse is being considered very important because such a solar eclipse is happening after almost fifty years. The duration of this solar eclipse will be about 5 hours 25 minutes. Out of this, there will be about seven and a half minutes during which there will be darkness on the earth.   • Pregnant women should take special precautions during solar eclipse.
  • Eating and drinking is prohibited during this time.
  • Pregnant women should not peel or cut anything during solar eclipse.

  • People who are sick or elderly should not fast during this period. 
  • During this time, you can eat dry fruits. Even if eaten in small quantity, they will give full energy to the body.
  • Women are advised to eat satvik food during eclipse.

According to Indian time, the solar eclipse will start on April 8 at 9.12 pm and will end at 2.22 am. The total duration of the solar eclipse will be 5 hours and 10 minutes. If we talk about countries like America, Canada, Ireland and England, then the solar eclipse will start at 2.15 pm.  

Full Solar Eclipse (Full Solar Eclipse 2024)

This first solar eclipse of the year will be complete, which is also known as the total solar eclipse. Let us tell you that during the solar eclipse, the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth. In such a situation, the sunlight does not fall on the Earth and it becomes dark on the Earth. In such a situation, it is considered a total solar eclipse.

Will Not be visible in the country (Solar eclipse will be visible in India or not)

This solar eclipse going to happen on Monday i.e. 8 April will not be visible in our country. This is because at the time when the solar eclipse will occur, it will be night time in India.

How long will the Sutak period (Sutak Kaal of Surya Grahan 2024)

Usually the Sutak period starts about 12 hours before the eclipse begins and ends only after the eclipse ends. But this time the Sutak period of the solar eclipse will not be valid because this solar eclipse will not be visible in India.
