IND vs WI T20 Series: Following the ODI series between India and the West Indies, it is now time for the T20 International series. Team India had clinched the ODI series by defeating the West Indies 2–1; India won the first two matches, while the West Indies secured a victory in the third ODI. Now, the two teams will face each other in a five-match T20 International series.
First T20 match to be played on October 6
The first match of the T20 series between India and the West Indies will be played on Tuesday, October 6. This match will be held in Lucknow. Following this, four more matches will be played between the two teams. The schedule for the entire series is as follows for cricket fans:
1st T20I: October 6 — Lucknow
2nd T20I: October 9 — Ranchi
3rd T20I: October 11 — Indore
4th T20I: October 14 — Hyderabad
5th T20I: October 17 — Bengaluru
The T20 series will conclude with the fifth match in Bengaluru on October 17.
Shreyas Iyer to captain Team India
Shreyas Iyer will captain the Indian team in this T20 series, while Tilak Varma will serve as the vice-captain. The Indian team will return to the field after recently winning the gold medal by defeating Pakistan at the Asian Games.
The BCCI had already announced the Indian squad for the series; however, a change was made later. Naman Dhir has been included in the squad in place of Washington Sundar. It has been reported that, with an eye on the upcoming Test series against New Zealand, Washington Sundar has been given the opportunity to play red-ball cricket for his state team in the Ranji Trophy.
