IPL 2024: Virat Kohli scores his 100th half-century, becoming the first Asian player to achieve this milestone

Kohli became the first Asian player to score 100 half-centuries in T20. Kohli has become the first Indian batsman to cross the 50-run mark for the 100th time in T20. Earlier, in the match played against Chennai, Kohli had touched the 12,000-run mark in T20.

Kohli scored his 51st half-century in IPL against Punjab

Now Kohli has crossed the 50-run mark for the 100th time in T20. In the match being played against Punjab at Chinnaswamy, Kohli scored his 51st half-century in IPL. Apart from this, he has also scored 7 centuries in the tournament. Kohli completed his half-century in 31 balls against Punjab.

Kohli has played a total of 377 T20 matches

Excluding the match being played against Punjab, Kohli has played a total of 377 T20 matches so far. Batting in 360 innings of these matches, he has scored 12015 runs at an average of 41.14 and a strike rate of 133.36. During this period, 8 centuries and 91 half-centuries have come from his bat, in which his highest score has been 122* runs. 

Punjab gave a target of 177 runs 

In the match being played at Chinnaswamy’s home ground, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and invited Punjab Kings to bat first. Coming to bat, Punjab scored 176 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Shikhar Dhawan scored the highest 45 runs in 37 balls for the team, which included 5 fours and 1 six. Apart from this, Shashank, batting at number seven, scored 21 runs in 8 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes and made a significant contribution in helping the team cross the 170-run mark. During this, Siraj and Maxwell took 2-2 wickets for RCB.
