Iran War Live: Trump Says No Early End to Conflict, Rejects Tehran Peace Offer

Tensions in the ongoing Iran conflict remain high as US President Donald Trump signalled there would be no immediate end to the war, expressing dissatisfaction with Iran’s latest peace proposal.

They’re asking for things I can’t agree to, Trump said, warning against a premature resolution that could allow the conflict to resurface in the near future. His remarks come amid continued instability in the Middle East, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.

The United States has also issued a warning to global shipping operators, stating that any vessel paying tolls or transit fees to Iran while passing through the Strait of Hormuz could face sanctions. The move adds further pressure on maritime trade routes already strained by geopolitical tensions.

Iran, meanwhile, has indicated that hostilities could resume. Senior military official Mohammad Jafar Asadi stated that evidence suggests the US is not committed to long-term agreements, adding that Iranian armed forces are fully prepared for renewed conflict. Analysts say negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme are unlikely to conclude quickly. Experts point out that past agreements, including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, took years to finalise, highlighting the complexity of current talks.

Iran is reportedly pushing for a short-term or interim agreement, recognising the challenges of reaching a comprehensive deal. However, differences between Washington and Tehran continue to stall progress, keeping the region on edge.

Meanwhile, political divisions within the United States have also surfaced, with former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene criticising continued US support for Israeli military actions, reflecting growing debate over foreign policy decisions. With military readiness on both sides, stalled negotiations, and rising economic concerns linked to oil supply routes, the Iran conflict remains a major global flashpoint with no clear resolution in sight.
