Israel Hamas War: Joe Biden’s threat overshadowed Netanyahu, opened the border for Palestine

Israel Hamas War: After a threat from the US, Benjamin Netanyahu has opened the border of northern Gaza for humanitarian aid.

Israel Hamas War: Israel issued a government statement on Friday saying that Israel is taking major steps to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, including opening crossings towards northern Gaza. This statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office came a few hours after the conversation between Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu. Joe Biden had said that if Israel hinders humanitarian aid to Palestinian citizens, then the US will stop helping Israel.

In the announcement of opening the border by Israel, it has not been told what will be sent to Gaza through this route and in what quantity. But after agreeing to Joe Biden, America has continued to provide military and diplomatic help to Israel. After the death of 7 aid workers who were delivering food in Gaza, the whole world is angry with Israel. In such a situation, America was also ready to leave Israel.

What did Israeli officials say?

Gaza’s Health Ministry said that more than 33 thousand Palestinians have died since the war between Ukraine and Hamas started, while 75600 others are injured till Thursday. An Israeli official said that for the first time after October 7, the Security Cabinet has agreed to open the border for Palestine. Israeli officials said that humanitarian aid will be delivered to Palestinian citizens through this route. Apart from this, the cabinet has also approved the use of the Israeli port Ashdod to deliver more help to Gaza.

United Nations welcomed the decision

The United Nations has also welcomed the opening of the border. It is being said that Israel has opened the Jil border, it is called Erez crossing. Hamas had attacked Israel through this crossing and killed more than 1200 people, and took about 250 people hostage. The United Nations said that cautiously opening the border is a good step from a humanitarian point of view. United Nations Secretary General’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that there is a need for a ceasefire between the two countries.
