Two ships from Pak arrive in Sri Lanka for bilateral exercise

Two ships from Pakistan have arrived in Colombo to take part in a bilateral naval exercise, the Sri Lankan Navy said on Monday.

Two Pakistani naval ships, Taimur and Aslat, reached the port of Colombo on Sunday and will remain in the island nation until April 26, Commander Buddika Sampath, a spokesman for the Sri Lanka Navy, said.

Sampath said that the training ships from Pakistan are on a “goodwill visit” to the country and will “take part in a bilateral Naval exercise themed Lion Star V with the Sri Lanka Navy.”  He said Sri Lanka would finalise its program depending on what the Pakistani ships would offer for the training exercises. “This is an excellent opportunity of exposure for our young Naval officers”, he said.
