Delhi Metro Update: Following the conclusion of the protest at Jantar Mantar, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) opened the entry gates at all stations across the Delhi Metro network on Saturday evening. Earlier, entry and exit services at several metro stations had been temporarily suspended due to security reasons.
In a post on the social media platform X, the DMRC stated, “Entry gates at all metro stations across the Delhi Metro network have now been opened.” Prior to this, the DMRC had announced the restoration of services at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat metro stations.
Entry Suspended at 18 Metro Stations
On Saturday morning, in view of the student protest at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak issue and prevailing security arrangements, the DMRC had suspended entry and exit services at 18 metro stations in central Delhi until further notice. According to the DMRC advisory, entry and exit gates were closed at the following stations: Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirath, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan, and New Delhi. Normal operations have now been restored at all these stations.
