Ketan Agarwal Case: Defending his son, the father of Chetan Chaudhary—an accused in the Pune Ketan Agarwal murder case—has claimed that Chetan is being falsely implicated and forcibly made a co-accused. Babulal, the father of 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary, alleged that Siya Goyal is trying to frame his son to save herself. Notably, 20-year-old Siya and her boyfriend Chetan allegedly pushed her 26-year-old fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, into a deep gorge from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Siya and Ketan had gotten engaged in February and were scheduled to marry in a grand ceremony in Jaipur this November. Following the incident, she told Ketan’s family that he had slipped while trekking; however, a subsequent police investigation revealed an alleged conspiracy behind the murder, and both were arrested on June 23.
Siya and Chetan met last Diwali
Siya and Chetan met at a party during Diwali last year and remained in contact for about six months. During this period, they exchanged over 2,000 calls and spoke on the phone for approximately 238 hours.
Babulal is a grocery store owner
Chetan’s father, Babulal Chaudhary—who owns a grocery store—stated that they had never seen the girl before and knew nothing about her. He said he only learned her name was Siya yesterday and saw her for the first time at the police station. He mentioned that when he met Chetan, his son told the police he was standing quite far away from Siya and Ketan at the time of the incident. When questioned, the father added that they did not know what Chetan was doing at Lohagad Fort that day; he had not told them why he had gone there.
My son is innocent: Father
The father asserted that his son is not that kind of person and is not involved in the case. He also clarified that he was unaware of any affair between his son and Siya Goyal. They stated that Chetan is ‘innocent’ and that he used to come to work at the grocery store regularly.
How Chetan Chaudhary was caught
While examining CCTV footage, the police observed Chetan—wearing a hoodie—following Ketan and Siya. The footage also showed him communicating with Siya using hand gestures. In another clip, Siya suddenly turned around to look at him, and he immediately crouched down. The police also checked the temperature at that specific time on June 18 and found it to be 33 degrees Celsius. They wondered why anyone would wear a hoodie in such heat. This raised suspicions that there might be a connection between the two. Subsequent interrogation pieced the details together, revealing a premeditated conspiracy involving collusion between Siya and Chetan.
