8 Remakes, All Blockbusters: 2024 Version Smashes Records, Hits 100 Crores in Just 3 Days!

Manichithrathazhu To Bhool-Bhulaiyaa: As soon as a formula becomes a hit, the makers in Bollywood rush to make a movie based on it. One such formula is making a splash at the box office these days. The interesting thing is that this formula has been successful at the box office not once or twice but 8 times. That too not in one language. But in different languages. Why just the formula, this is a complete movie which has been remade again and again and every time each new remake has proved to be a blockbuster. This movie has been remade thrice in Bollywood alone. The latest remake has earned more than 100 crores in just three days. Now you must have understood which movie we are talking about.  

Remakes made eight times

1. Manichitrathazhu (1993) – The original Malayalam psychological horror film that set the benchmark for future adaptations.
   
2. Apthamitra (2004) – The first remake in Kannada, which retained the thrilling storyline and became a major hit.
   
3. Chandramukhi (2005) – The Tamil remake featuring Rajinikanth, which was a blockbuster success and popularized the story even more.
   
4. Rajmohol (2005) – The Bengali version that adapted the original story for Bengali audiences with local cultural elements.
   
5. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) – The Bollywood adaptation starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, which achieved nationwide fame and critical acclaim.
   
6. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) – The sequel in Bollywood, starring Kartik Aaryan, which retained connections to the original and became a box office hit.
   
7. Chandramukhi 2 (2023) – A continuation of the Tamil remake, revitalizing the story for a new generation and maintaining the theme’s popularity.
   
8. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024)– Continuing the series in Bollywood, maintaining the franchise’s appeal with suspense and entertainment.
   The most recent adaptation, which earned 100 crores within three days of release, showcasing the story’s enduring appeal and blockbuster potential.

Movie Collection

Part two of this film came in the year 2022 and now part three has been released. According to the report of Sacnilk, the film earned 17.50 crores on the fourth day of its release. After which the film’s earnings have now reached Rs 123.50 crores. This film of Kartik Aryan, Tripti Dimri, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan is getting a lot of love in foreign countries as well.
