Thirty-six families in Delhi’s Harsh Vihar area have finally received relief after waiting for electricity connections since 2018.
The long-pending issue was resolved after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta intervened and directed officials to take immediate action.
The matter reportedly came to her attention during a public grievance hearing where affected families shared their struggles and difficulties caused by the delay.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, authorities acted quickly in mission mode following the directions issued by the Chief Minister.
A transformer was installed in the area and the process of providing new electricity connections to the families was initiated. Residents expressed relief after years of waiting and uncertainty over a basic service requirement.
The development is being seen as part of broader infrastructure efforts being undertaken by the Delhi government to strengthen power systems and improve public services.
