Raipur: In view of the increasing crowds of devotees and traffic congestion across the city during Ganeshotsav, the Raipur Police has modified traffic regulations. Restrictions on the entry of heavy and medium vehicles onto 25 major city roads have been extended. Now, the entry of such vehicles coming from Ring Road No. 1 and Ring Road No. 2 towards the city will be prohibited from 5:00 AM to 2:00 AM.
According to an order issued by Police Commissioner Dr. Sanjeev Shukla, these additional restrictions will remain in effect until the conclusion of Ganeshotsav on September 27. The pre-existing traffic regulations for vehicle entry will be restored starting September 28.
‘No Entry’ from 5:00 AM to 2:00 AM
Previously, the entry of heavy and medium vehicles from Ring Road No. 1 and Ring Road No. 2 into the city was restricted between 5:00 AM and 12:00 AM (midnight). Due to the heavy crowds expected during Ganeshotsav, this restricted period has been extended by two hours; heavy and medium vehicles will now be barred from entering the city until 2:00 AM instead of 12:00 AM.
Timings Changed for Telghani Naka and Railway Station Areas
Entry timings for goods vehicles in the Telghani Naka and railway station areas have also been revised. Previously, the entry of goods vehicles—including pickup trucks and Tata Ace vehicles—was restricted between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. During Ganeshotsav, this restriction will now extend from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
This means there will be a total six-hour ban on the entry of goods vehicles in these areas. This arrangement will also remain in force until the end of Ganeshotsav. Entry of heavy vehicles is restricted on these routes:
Agrasen Chowk to Telghaninaka Chowk via Bhaisthan Road
Rathore Chowk to Telghaninaka Chowk
Fafadih Chowk – Station Chowk – Telghaninaka Chowk
Chunabhatti to Station Chowk Gate via Gudhiyari Underbridge and Narmadapara
Karma Chowk (Ramnagar) to Telghaninaka Chowk via Ramnagar Bridge and Underbridge
Naharpara Sanjay Gandhi Chowk towards Station Gurudwara
