The mission was launched 15 days after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. The operation has been aptly named ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a tribute to the martyrs’ wives who lost their husbands to terrorism.
Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that India had launched 24 missiles. However, no official casualty count has been released by Pakistan so far.
Meanwhile, sources revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally monitored the operation throughout the night, staying in constant touch with the top military brass. This strike marks a significant escalation in India’s counterterrorism doctrine and sends a strong message across the border.
