Now the question is who is at fault in this accident, or whenever two trains collide, who is at fault? Let’s find out –
Why do two trains come on the same track?
Often, when there is a signal fault or electronic interlocking change, then such accidents occur. Let us tell you that in the railways, the electronic interlocking system is set according to each train and its route. Because of this, every train is on a different track and accidents do not occur, but if there is a problem in this, then such big accidents occur.
How does this system work?
According to a BBC report, electrical circuits are installed in the railway track and as soon as the train arrives on the track section, information about the arrival of the train is received through the circuit. As soon as the information about the arrival of the train is received, the train circuit forwards the information about its arrival. Through this, EIC controls things like control signals.
Apart from this, on the basis of this, information is given as to which direction the train has to go now. As you must have often seen, at many places the tracks are straight, but at many places there is a network of tracks. Through this, the track of the train is changed and the train is diverted to another direction.
Because of this also two trains collide
At present, the control room decides the routes of the trains, but sometimes due to human error or technical reasons, the track cannot be changed, due to which the train goes on some other route instead of the decided route. Then when there is another train on the same route, the two trains collide.
