IPL 2024 RR vs DC: Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in a thrilling match

RR vs DC IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in the ninth match of IPL 2024 at Sawai Man Singh Stadium to register their second consecutive win of the season.

RR vs DC, IPL 2024: On the basis of Ryan Parag’s explosive innings of 84 runs, Rajasthan Royals scored 185 runs for 5 wickets against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. Ryan hit seven fours and three sixes in his unbeaten innings of 45 balls. This is his best score in IPL. Due to his explosive innings, the Rajasthan team added 92 runs in the last 6 overs.

Rajasthan Royals were struggling after losing three wickets for 38 runs after eight overs. From here, Ryan shared a 54-run partnership in 37 balls for the fourth wicket with Ravichandran Ashwin (29 runs) and a 52-run partnership in 23 balls with Dhruv Jurel (20 runs) for the fifth wicket to bring the team back into the match.

Riyan Parag shared a 43-run partnership in 16 balls with Shimron Hetmyer (14 not out). During this, he scored 25 runs in the last over against Enrique Norkia by hitting three fours and two sixes. This was the most expensive over of the innings. All five bowlers of Delhi Capitals got one success each. Khalil Ahmed gave 24 runs and Axar Patel gave 21 runs. Kuldeep Yadav gave away 41 runs, Norkia 48 runs and Mukesh Kumar 49 runs.

Delhi’s fast bowlers bowled tight in the beginning. Mukesh gave the team a good start by bowling Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over of the innings. Captain Sanju Samson hit a hat-trick of fours in the next over of this bowler but in the sixth over, he played Khalil Ahmed’s ball into the hands of Rishabh Pant, who was playing his 100th IPL match. In the powerplay, Rajasthan’s team could score only 31 runs for two wickets.

Jos Buttler, who was struggling to score runs from the other end, was LBW off Kuldeep Yadav’s ball in the eighth over. Riyan hit a four against Akshar in the ninth over. This was Rajasthan’s first four after 31 balls. After hitting the first six of the innings against Kuldeep, Ashwin proved the decision of sending him up in the batting order right by hitting two sixes against Norkia in the 11th over.

Dhruv Jurel hit a four against Kuldeep while Riyan hit a six to spoil the figures of this spinner. Jurel’s innings was bowled out by Norkia. Hetmyer hit a six and a four against Mukesh, taking the team’s score to 160 runs in the 19th over. Riyan gave Rajasthan fans a chance to celebrate by scoring 25 runs against Norkia in the last over.
