KKR bowlers were thrashed badly 

KKR bowlers looked absolutely helpless in front of Punjab Kings batsmen today. Harshit Rana was the most expensive bowler for the team. He conceded 61 runs in his 4 overs spell at an economy of 15.20. Apart from him, Dushmantha Chameera conceded 48 runs in 3 overs and Varun Chakraborty conceded 46 runs in 3 overs. 

The only success from KKR today was achieved by Sunil Narayan. He bowled 4 overs for his team and got 1 wicket for 24 runs. Not only this, he also sent Prabhsimran Singh to the pavilion by running him out. 

Kolkata’s stormy opening was useless

After losing the toss against Punjab Kings, the openers of Kolkata Knight Riders made a blazing start and laid the foundation for a big score. Sunil Narine and Phil Salt scored 137 runs for the team in just 10 overs. Both these batsmen scored fifties for the team. Narine scored 71 runs in 32 balls hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes, while Salt scored 75 runs in 37 balls hitting 6 fours and as many sixes.

Kolkata’s second big score of the season: 261 runs for 6 wickets

This season, the Kolkata Knight Riders team scored above 260 runs for the second time. After scoring 277 runs against Delhi Capitals, the team scored 261 runs for 6 wickets against Punjab Kings. After a brilliant start by Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, captain Shreyas Iyer played an important role in taking the team to this score by scoring 28 runs in 10 balls.

Arshdeep Singh took the maximum of 2 wickets for Punjab Kings. Apart from this, Sam Karan, Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.

Punjab Kings reached number eight in the points table

Sunil Narine got the only success for Kolkata Knight Riders. At the same time, after this victory, Punjab Kings have reached the eighth position with 8 points in 9 matches. While Mumbai Indians led by Hardik Pandya have slipped to the ninth position. However, despite this defeat, KKR remains in second place with 10 points in 8 matches.
