IMD Weather Update: On one hand, the political temperature is high due to the Lok Sabha elections in the country , on the other hand, the weather has also started changing. In many states of South India, there will be light rain along with intense heat, while on the other hand, the weather in the capital Delhi can also become pleasant due to heavy rain. On Friday (April 19), the Meteorological Department said that till Saturday, winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in the capital Delhi and there will be light rain. In such a situation, Delhiites will get relief from the heat till next week.
According to the information, the temperature in Delhi may remain between 22 to 36 degrees Celsius for the next four-five days. However, later it will increase and cross 40 degrees, due to which Delhiites will also have to face severe heat. There is a possibility of hailstorm along with rain in Punjab and Haryana adjacent to the national capital Delhi till Saturday. On Friday also, hailstorm along with rain has occurred, due to which crops have been damaged. However, this has brought slight relief from the heat. Due to Western Disturbance, light rain will continue in Punjab and Haryana till April 20 and winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Farmers in both the states have been advised to keep the harvested crops in safe places.
How will the weather be in the rest of the states of the country?
The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in Northeast India till April 21. This situation will continue for the next six days in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, while in North India, strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour can blow in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till the 21st of this month. Winds will also blow in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. In the southern states, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep are likely to receive light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning till the 21st.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted severe heat in some areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next three days. Also, the weather will remain hot and humid in West Bengal, Odisha, Goa, Gujarat and Karnataka today and tomorrow and in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh for the next four days. A yellow alert has been issued for heat wave in eight districts of West Bengal.
