Monsoon set to become active! Heavy rainfall expected in several states, including UP; check the weather forecast for your area.

New Delhi: The Southwest Monsoon is likely to reach the remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar over the next 48 hours. Conditions are also favorable for the monsoon’s advance into parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Recent weather forecasts indicate favorable conditions for the monsoon to progress further into parts of Northwest India over the coming days, signaling increased activity in the rainy season. Heavy rainfall is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya between June 27 and June 29.

Rainfall Alert

The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, across Northwest India this week. Intermittent rain is expected in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with heavy rainfall likely at isolated places on June 25 and 26. Heavy rain is predicted for Himachal Pradesh from June 26 to June 30. Punjab may witness heavy rainfall at isolated locations on June 27 and 28. Rain is also likely in Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. Due to the monsoon’s arrival, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand between June 27 and July 1.

Madhya Pradesh may experience heavy rainfall at isolated places on June 25 and 26, with such conditions likely to persist in parts of the state until June 30. Vidarbha is also expected to witness a spell of significant rainfall. Rainfall activity is expected to be vigorous in Chhattisgarh, with heavy rain forecast at isolated places between June 25 and June 29.

Likelihood of Torrential Rain in Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan and Goa from June 25 to June 30. A warning has also been issued regarding the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in this region on June 25. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in central Maharashtra between June 25 and 29, while the Gujarat region may witness heavy rain from June 25 to 28 as the monsoon strengthens across western India. Significant rainfall is also anticipated in coastal Karnataka, with heavy rain forecast for isolated areas on June 25 and 26.

Heavy Rain Alert for Bihar and Other States

The Meteorological Department has forecast a continued spell of rain across eastern and northeastern India until July 1. Rainfall intensity is expected to increase in Bihar over the weekend, with heavy rain likely in some areas on June 27 and 28. Heavy rainfall is probable in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from June 25 to 29, while isolated heavy rain may occur in Assam and Meghalaya on June 25 and 26. Heavy rain is forecast for Arunachal Pradesh on June 25. Further south in the Northeast, heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on June 25 and 26.
