Weather Update: Heavy Rain in UP-Bihar, Yellow Alert in 7+ States; Cloudburst in Himachal Kills 8, 46 Missing; Red Alert for MP-Chhattisgarh

All India Weather Update: Due to heavy rains, people's problems have increased a lot. The Meteorological Department has said that people are not going to get relief from rain in the coming days.

IMD Weather Update: Heavy rain is affecting many states across India, causing cloudbursts and landslides. From north to south, heavy rainfall has disrupted daily life, with predictions of continued rain in Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra in the coming days. On August 2, a cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul Spiti caused flooding in Pin Valley, resulting in one woman’s death. The previous day, cloudbursts at five locations led to seven fatalities and 46 missing persons. NDRF, SDRF, police, and Home Guard personnel, along with drones, are actively searching for the missing individuals.

The Indian Meteorological Department has said that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat. More than 20 cm of rain can be recorded in these places. Heavy to very heavy rains are also expected in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka. The IMD has said that there is a possibility of 12 cm or less rain in these states and areas.

Cloud burst again in Himachal, 8 deaths, 46 missing in two days 

Cloudburst occurred again in Himachal Pradesh on Friday (2 August). Cloudburst caused flood in Pin Valley of Lahaul Spiti yesterday evening at around 6 pm. A woman was swept away in it. Police recovered her body late in the evening. Earlier on Thursday, 7 people had died due to cloudburst at 5 places. 46 people are missing.

NDRF, SDRF, Police and Home Guard personnel are engaged in searching for the missing people. Drones are also being used.

There will be heavy rain in Northeast India

From Northeast India to Himalayan regions, fierce form of clouds can be seen. Apart from this, clouds are going to rain in some states of South India as well. Heavy rain alert has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Western Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Marathwada, Kerala and Mahe interior Karnataka. There is a possibility of 7 cm or less rain here. 

Red alert for heavy rain in 4 states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh

The Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday (August 3) has issued a red alert for heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Flood-like situation arose in many districts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday. Gates of 9 big dams including Kolar, Tawa, Bargi had to be opened.

Gangrel Dam of Dhamtari in Chhattisgarh is 86 percent full. On Friday, for the first time in the season, all 14 gates were opened for half an hour. During this, a mock drill was also conducted to deal with floods in Mahanadi.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Jharkhand during the next 24 hours. The state government has ordered all private and government schools to remain closed today. Two people have also died due to lightning in Garhwa district.

Rainfall will continue in these 16 states

Apart from these 4 states, IMD has also issued rain alert in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Collectors have declared holiday in schools in Bhilwara, Kekri and Tonk districts of Rajasthan on Saturday (August 3) due to heavy rain alert. Due to heavy rains in Kishangarh, Ajmer, a part of the hill behind the Housing Board Colony collapsed. A house collapsed in Sawai Madhopur.

2 people have died due to floods in Assam. More than 18 thousand people are affected by the floods in 6 districts. This year, 116 people have lost their lives in the state due to floods, storms, lightning and landslides.

How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR?

Delhi is going to be cloudy on Saturday (August 3). There may be rain with thunder in some parts of the capital. The heavy rain in the last few days has changed the weather of Delhi a lot. People have got relief from the sticky heat, which is going to continue this week. The maximum temperature in Delhi is going to be 34 degrees and the minimum temperature is going to be 26 degrees. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in Ghaziabad and Noida on Saturday.

IMD has said that it is going to rain in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi and its surrounding areas in eastern UP. There is a possibility of lightning along with rain in districts like Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah in western UP. A red alert has been issued for heavy rain along with thunderstorm and lightning for 9 districts of Bihar. There will be rain in districts like Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Jamui, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Katihar.

20 cm rain possible in eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh on August 4

According to the Meteorological Department, there is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain (more than 20 cm) in eastern Rajasthan, western Madhya Pradesh on August 4.

Konkan-Goa, Central Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka may receive rainfall up to 12 cm.

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, interior Karnataka and Gujarat may receive more than 7 cm of rain.

Rajasthan: Heavy rain warning from today, holiday in schools of 5 districts

The heavy rains that have started in Rajasthan are expected to intensify further. Three districts of Rajasthan have an orange alert for heavy rains on Saturday. Yellow alert has been issued in 7 districts. Due to the possibility of heavy rains, holidays have been declared in schools in Bhilwara, Tonk, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Kekri districts today.
