The Rajasthan government has launched the WhatsApp E-Mitra service. Through this, users can avail themselves of 27 different services via WhatsApp. People will no longer need to make repeated visits to government offices for tasks such as paying water and electricity bills; instead, they can access these services from the comfort of their homes. The government aims to eventually integrate a total of 100 services with WhatsApp.

What is WhatsApp E-Mitra?
This service by the Rajasthan government is an expansion of the existing E-Mitra initiative, which promotes e-governance and digital services. People can now access 27 services directly on their phones without visiting government offices. There is no need to visit a government office. Furthermore, users will also receive information about government schemes through WhatsApp E-Mitra.

How to avail the service?
To use the WhatsApp E-Mitra service, individuals must have WhatsApp installed on their smartphones.
Next, open WhatsApp and send a message saying “Hi” to the E-Mitra number: 94610-62705.

Select the desired service and proceed.
The Rajasthan government has launched this chatbot in two languages: Hindi and English.
Is there a charge for these services?
This government service is completely free; no additional charges or platform fees will be levied for using the E-Mitra service. The government may expand the E-Mitra platform to include more services in the future. According to the government, WhatsApp E-Mitra is a 24/7 chatbot, allowing people to access these 27 services at any time.

How secure is the system?
The Rajasthan government has clarified that the WhatsApp E-Mitra service is completely secure. This ensures that users’ information will not be leaked in any way. To avail of the service, users must complete OTP-based authentication. Additionally, the chatbot features API-level integration, ensuring complete data security; information will be provided only to users authorized via OTP.
