CG Weather: Rain takes a break, daytime heat rises; find out what the weather will be like in Chhattisgarh today.

CG Weather: The withdrawal of the monsoon has begun in Chhattisgarh. With the cessation of rainfall, bright sunshine prevails across most parts of the state, leading to a rise in daytime temperatures and a noticeable increase in heat. Following its withdrawal from the capital, Raipur, the monsoon is expected to retreat from the entire state over the coming days.

The weather remained dry across Chhattisgarh over the past 24 hours, with no significant rainfall recorded anywhere. During this period, Raipur recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4°C, while Rajnandgaon was the hottest place in the state at 35°C. Daytime temperatures exceeded 33°C in most districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, a weather trough is passing over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Marathwada. Under its influence, light drizzle may occur in some areas of the state. Conditions are likely to become favorable for the withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon over the next two to three days. Meanwhile, there is a forecast of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas after two days.

Temperatures exceeding 33°C in several districts

Maximum temperatures recorded in the state included 33.8°C in Pendra Road, 33.6°C in Bilaspur, 33.6°C at Mana Airport, 33.5°C in Durg, and 33.3°C in Jagdalpur. Ambikapur recorded a maximum temperature of 32°C.

Rising heat in Raipur

Temperatures in the capital, Raipur, have been steadily rising since the rain stopped. Residents are facing heat due to the intense daytime sunshine. There is currently no relief, as night temperatures have not dropped significantly either.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky over Raipur is likely to remain clear on Tuesday. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34°C, and the minimum around 24°C.

What is the prevailing weather system? According to the Meteorological Department, the withdrawal line of the Southwest Monsoon is passing through Supaul, Ranchi, Raipur, Brahmapuri, Parbhani, Baramati, and Harnai.

Additionally, a trough extends from West Bengal to Madhya Maharashtra, passing through Jharkhand, the interior parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Marathwada. Another trough also exists, stretching from north-central Bihar to northern Odisha via Jharkhand and the Gangetic plains of West Bengal. Under the influence of these weather systems, there is a possibility of light rain or drizzle in some parts of the region.
