Elections 2024, Congress Candidates Eighth List: Congress has released the eighth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. There are a total of 14 names in this list which came late on Wednesday (March 27, 2024). These candidates are from a total of four states, in which candidates have been announced for the seats of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.Â
Rao Yadavendra Singh has been given a chance against Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia from Guna seat of Madhya Pradesh, while Congress has fielded Pratap Bhanu Sharma from Vidisha against former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The eighth list of Congress candidates is as follows:

A day before this, on March 26, 2024, in the meeting of the ‘Central Election Committee’ (CEC), the Congress had released the seventh list of names of candidates for the general elections, which contained five names. Four names were from Chhattisgarh, while one name was from Tamil Nadu. Shashi Singh from Surguja (ST) of Chhattisgarh, Dr. Main Devi Singh from Raigarh (ST), Devendra Singh Yadav from Bilaspur and Biresh Thakur from Kanker (ST) have been given a chance, while R Sudha has been made the candidate from Mayiladuthurai seat of Tamil Nadu.

Congress had earlier announced nine candidates from UP, under which the party’s state president Ajay Rai will again contest against PM Modi. Under the fourth list, he has been given a ticket from Varanasi. Voting for the first phase will be held on April 19, while the results will be declared on June 4, 2024.
