ICC T20 World Cup 2026: Matches for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 are currently underway. All teams are striving to outdo one another. However, no team has yet secured a spot in the final four. That said, four teams have definitely been eliminated; they are now out of the race for the semi-finals. The Pakistan women’s cricket team is among them.
Pakistan and Netherlands eliminated from India’s group
A total of 12 teams are participating in this year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (hosted in England), divided into two groups of six. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, four teams have already been eliminated from the tournament. Pakistan and the Netherlands have been eliminated from Group A. The Pakistani team has played four matches and the Netherlands three, yet neither has secured a single victory. Consequently, they are currently at the bottom of their respective groups and out of the tournament, although they will still play their remaining matches.
Australia close to semi-finals; India in second place
In Group A, Australia holds the top spot. The team has won all four of its matches, accumulating eight points; they are on the verge of the semi-finals and need just one more win to qualify. As for the Indian women’s team, they currently sit in second place. They have won two of their three matches and lost one, giving them four points. While India, South Africa, and Bangladesh all have four points, India holds the second spot due to a superior net run rate.
Scotland and Ireland eliminated from Group B
In Group B, England and the West Indies are dominating. Both teams have won all three of their matches and have six points each. New Zealand and Sri Lanka have four points each. Scotland has managed to secure only two points so far, while Ireland has played four matches without winning a single one. Scotland and Ireland have been eliminated from this group. Now, teams will soon begin securing their spots in the final four.
