First Test between India and Sri Lanka to begin on August 15
Team India is set to tour Sri Lanka in August for a two-match Test series. The first match is scheduled to run from August 15 to August 19, while the second match will commence on August 23. These matches are part of the World Test Championship, where Team India is currently placed low on the points table. India will have the opportunity to climb the rankings by winning the series under Shubman Gill’s captaincy. However, this will not be an easy task; the Sri Lankan team is formidable on home soil, making them difficult to defeat there.
Team India to play practice match in Colombo starting August 7
Meanwhile, the BCCI has announced the squad for the series. It was also revealed that Team India will play a four-day practice match before the Test series begins. This match is scheduled to start on August 7 and conclude on August 10. The match will take place in Colombo, offering Team India a chance to assess their preparations and acclimatize to the local conditions.
