PM Modi has also clarified about the reforms in his speech. He said that the government’s reforms are not the kind of events that make big economic news in the pink paper. Referring to the fact that frequent elections create a hindrance in the country’s progress, the Prime Minister said that the announcement of any scheme made by the government is often linked to electoral gains and losses. Referring to ‘one nation, one election’, he said that there has been a wide discussion in the country on this, all political parties have put forth their views and for this, the committee constituted under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind has also prepared its report.Â
He said, “The country will have to come forward for One Nation, One Election. From the Red Fort, I urge the political parties of the country, I urge the people who understand the Constitution of the country to come forward to realize the dream of ‘One Nation, One Election’ for the progress of India, with the aim of ensuring maximum use of India’s resources.” Referring to the current situation in Bangladesh, the Prime Minister expressed hope that normalcy would be restored there soon.
