Will Vasundhara Raje Be BJP’s Next Chief: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is known for making unexpected and strategic decisions, often catching the opposition off guard. In yet another potential masterstroke, the party high command is reportedly considering former Rajasthan Chief Minister and current National Vice President, Vasundhara Raje, for the role of BJP’s National President. According to sources, this announcement could be made soon, positioning Raje for a major leadership role.

Apart from Vasundhara Raje, names like Sanjay Joshi, proposed by the RSS, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, reportedly backed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, are also being considered. However, insiders suggest that the RSS favors Vasundhara Raje as the top choice for the position.
While the final decision has not been officially announced, speculation is rife, with Raje already receiving congratulatory messages on social media in anticipation of her appointment as BJP’s next National President.
Why is Vasundhara Raje leading the race?
Vasundhara Raje’s name is leading the race for the new BJP National President for several reasons. Firstly, Raje is considered close to the RSS, which has reportedly proposed her name for the position.
Another name suggested by the RSS is Sanjay Joshi, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior party leaders reportedly oppose this choice due to past tensions.
The rift between Modi and Sanjay Joshi dates back to 2012 when Modi chose not to campaign in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections because Joshi was the campaign coordinator. Given this background, Vasundhara Raje is seen as the strongest contender, with RSS backing her as the most suitable candidate for the role.
Where can there be a hitch?
Experts say that of course the RSS has put forward the name of Vasundhara Raje and it considers her the most suitable for the post of president, but Vasundhara’s biggest hurdle is her differences with PM Modi and Amit Shah and due to this the game can also be spoiled.
Vasundhara Raje has never had good relations with both of them. After winning the 2023 assembly elections in Rajasthan, Vasundhara’s name was at the forefront in the CM race, but the party made Bhajanlal Sharma, who became an MLA for the first time, the CM in her place.
Not only this, when the credit for the party’s victory started being given to PM Modi, Vasundhara Raje said that not only one person has a hand in the victory. In the year 2018 also, there was a clash between Amit Shah and Vasundhara Raje.
Then there was a discussion that the then national president of BJP Amit Shah wanted to make Gajendra Singh Shekhawat the head of BJP in Rajasthan, but Vasundhara had opened a front, due to which Amit Shah could not do anything.
This Statement Gives a Strong Indication
Recently, at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur, Madan Rathore took over as the State President of BJP Rajasthan, with Vasundhara Raje in attendance. During the event, Raje addressed party leaders and workers, stating that politics is synonymous with ups and downs, and every individual experiences this phase.
She emphasized that there are three things everyone should keep in mind: position, pride, and stature (Pad, Mad aur Kad). While positions and pride are temporary, only stature is permanent. She noted that those who do good work are remembered, and their stature remains intact. However, excessive pride in one’s position can diminish stature. While these remarks were directed at Madan Rathore, the new BJP president of Rajasthan, they also hint at something more significant, suggesting a broader message or indication for the future.
